Dan Gertsacov '97

Dan
Dan graduated with honors in 1997 with a
degree in economics, he also majored in international
development and minored in Spanish. He was named the Dean’s
Most Outstanding Graduating Senior.
At Richmond, Dan was a CAA Scholar Athlete
in track and field and participated in the ESL Tutor Project,
was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, the captain of the rugby
club, and a student representative to the Board of Trustees.
Dan studied abroad in Costa Rica and Chile.
After graduating from Richmond, Dan was a
Fulbright Fellow in Chile. His experience here as well as the
total of five years he spent living and working in Chile,
Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and several other countries
in the region, not only resulted in his near-native fluency in
Spanish and Portuguese but also further inspired his passion for
the global world. Dan was the Founding CEO of Forum EMPRESA,
one of the largest regional business networks in the
hemisphere. When MTV Latin America conceptualized their first
multi-platform public service campaign focused on health
education and AIDS they turned to Dan to design and lead the
launch. Currently, Dan is Vice President of Business
Development at Univision Networks, the largest Spanish-language
media company in the United States.
In addition to his BA in International
Economics from the University of Richmond, Dan holds an MBA from
Harvard Business School, where he was a Horace Goldsmith
Scholar. Dan and his wife Andrea live in New York City where
when Dan is not growing his business or building new ones he is
a semi-professional rugby player and a trained gourmet chef in
multiple cuisines.
