Courses
All C-LAC sections are divided according to language, but the actual C-LAC sections offered will vary from semester to semester depending on the primary courses to which they are tied. View a list of upcoming C-LAC sections.
All students registered in the primary and cross-listed courses to which a C-LAC section is attached (regardless of the section number), and who have the required language ability level (see below) will be able to register for the C-LAC section. Also, any students who have taken those courses in the past and have a certain proficiency in the target language will be able to register in the associated C-LAC sections if they wish.
In the case of less commonly taught languages (everything but Spanish, French and German), some exceptions could be made to allow students into the corresponding C-LAC sections even if they are not registered in the main course or they have not taken the course in the past. This will be done on a case by case basis, and will require the permission of the C-LAC coordinator.
Cultures and Language Across the Curriculum students should also have attained COM-2 or intermediate proficiency in the target language in order to sign up for a C-LAC section. Those who have not but are willing and able to manage the class should obtain permission from the C-LAC Coordinator. All C-LAC sections will meet twelve times over the semester, each lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. To warrant credit, classes need to have around 15 hours of contact time, though a few meetings may be replaced by online discussions, primarily in Blackboard but also in chat-board discussions or blogs.

388 CLAC Internship
Selected CLAC assistants lead Languages Across the Curriculum sections of courses in various languages. Internship credit does not count toward a major or minor in the language. No more than 1.5 units of internship in any one department and 3.5 units of internship overall may be counted toward required degree units.
Prerequisite(s): Registration in the course to which the CLAC section is connected or having taken the primary course in the past, selection by CLAC faculty coordinator and approval of the primary course instructor.
