Immigration Information
General Information
There
are many immigration regulations that apply to international students and
scholars on non-immigrant visas. Please take the time to
read over the
compliance
form that discusses information about
responsibilities of non-immigrant international students and
scholars. Immigration regulations are highly complex and technical
so
it is imperative that international students consult
Krittika
Onsanit, director of international students, scholars, and
internship services, with
questions concerning immigration. Krittika keeps abreast of the latest
immigration issues and is responsible for all immigration concerns
at the University.
Information concerning
employment, travel, OPT, CPT, etc, varies for F-1 and J-1 visa
holders. An F-1 student is a non-U.S.
citizen who is pursuing a full-time course of study to achieve a
specific educational or professional objective at a U.S.
academic institution that has been designated by the Department
of Homeland Security to offer courses of study to such students.
A J-1 student is a non-U.S. citizen who is enrolled
full-time in a non-degree prescribed course of study at an
accredited educational institution.
Please follow the links to the left for
information specific to F-1 and J-1 visa holders.
