C. Weinstein Grants for Academic Year
International Projects and Study
The Office of
International Education offers grants for international study
and projects to be completed during the academic year. These grants are intended to foster and support a wide
range of innovative ideas which will enrich applicants personally and contribute to campus-wide internationalization.

Eligibility:
All full-time, continuing students, faculty, and staff are eligible to
apply.
Students

1. Students should propose research or study projects for
which they have appropriate
academic background.
2. Students who propose short-term study abroad (during
winter or spring break) must
demonstrate
one of the following: - Financial need and inability to study abroad on a semester
or year program. - The short-term program proposed is substantively different from
programs offered for a semester or year.
Staff

1. Staff members should propose projects consistent with their
duties and focused on
expanding the international dimension
of their job.
2. Time off to complete the projects should be arranged on an
individual basis between
the staff member and his
or her supervisor prior to submitting the application.
Faculty

1. Faculty members should propose projects related to
teaching and research, including
those
leading to the creation of new short-term study abroad
programs.
2. Applications proposing intensive language study aimed
at offering LAC sections will be
accepted.
3. Faculty requesting funds for the development of a
course should apply for a
Curriculum
Internationalization Grant.
Grants will be limited to $1000 per person maximum. Collaborative
projects between faculty, staff and/or students are strongly
encouraged, but will not necessarily amount to multiples of $1000.
Special consideration will be given to projects funded, in part, by
other institutional sources.
Procedures:
1. Applications should be submitted to
Cindy Holma
in the Office of International Education in
Puryear
Hall.
Applications will be accepted at any point during the academic year and will be
reviewed on a
rolling basis.
2. A subcommittee of the International Education Committee,
chaired by the Dean of
International Education, will review submissions
and award the grants. The Dean will
notify applicants in writing of
the committee’s decision.
3. Upon completion of the project, grant recipients must submit the
following to Cindy Holma:

A final report including a summary of what was accomplished during
the period of
the grant and
specific plans for campus internationalization impact.

A completed
Travel
Expense report including an itemized list of all expenditures.
Original receipts must accompany this report and should be taped to an 8 ½ by
11
sheet of paper.
- These reports are due no later than 30 days after the end of the
period for which the
grant was
awarded.
