Get Involved

Dive into life on campus to meet your fellow classmates and get to know the American way of life. In addition to many internationally oriented student organizations, the city of Richmond has a number of cultural organizations that welcome students from around the world. To view an online map of Richmond with shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions, visit Discovery Map Richmond. For help with directions, contact an International Student Peer Mentor.

Trader Fund

Through the Trader Fund, international students have a unique opportunity to attend one cultural event or site free-of-charge per year. Students also have opportunities to attend arts and sports events at little-to-no cost.

UR Summer Fellowships

Continuing, degree-seeking international students are encouraged to apply for UR Summer Fellowships, which provide financial support for living expenses for an unpaid or minimally paid summer internship or faculty-mentored summer research. International students should read the eligibility criteria to determine if they qualify.
