    As the associate director of study abroad, Chris provides back-up to the director, and manages a portfolio of semester-long exchange and study abroad programs located around the world. He advises and supports students who study in these places, and works with various departments on campus to manage the financial and academic aspects of the programs in these countries.

    Chris has worked in international education since 1999. Before coming to Richmond, he held other positions in the field at Purdue University and Penn State.

    After receiving his BA from Penn State, Chris was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone and has been involved in Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) activities since then. He later lived in Strasbourg, France for a year while doing a Master's degree in French (civilisation emphasis) through Penn State.

    In his free time, Chris enjoys traveling (recent trips include Japan, South Africa and Quebec), world literature and music, Native American culture and history, Cold War history, writing, and the outdoors. He speaks French and is learning Esperanto.
