2021 UR Summer Study Abroad Programs

What will you be doing this summer?

We're excited to announce two modified summer study abroad programs in Scandinavia. As global travel gradually begins to resume, we are pleased to offer two faculty-led programs that feature travel to either Denmark or Sweden. Each program features a three-week online component followed by a two-week period studying in country. In addition to the benefit of experiencing another culture, students do so with UR professors and peers, while also earning UR credit.

Note: We are offering these courses with confidence that we can meet health and safety requirements related to COVID-19. If for any reasons we feel that it will not be possible to travel, courses will be completed online so that students will still be eligible to earn all course credits.

Contact with Faculty

The faculty leader for each program page is an important contact as you determine which program is your best match, and they will review your application and determine approval to participate. The program description features further details and contact information.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Some undergraduates who study abroad during the summer may be eligible for financial aid, including Direct Loans. Using these loans in the summer will reduce a student’s Direct Loan eligibility for the following academic year. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for details. The merit-based Holt Summer Study Abroad Scholarship awards approximately $3,000 per participant who is studying on either of these summer study abroad programs. Additional details and application are available online.
