Ellen Sayles, Associate Dean and Director of Education Abroad, joined the International team of the University of Richmond in July 2017. She brings 15 years of experience in the international education field along with an enthusiasm for helping the UR community—students, faculty and staff—develop and continue the international educational opportunities that are a part of the rich tapestry at the University.
At Oberlin College, where she spent a good portion of her career, Ellen was responsible for all aspects of the internationalizing efforts as well as a specific focus on study abroad programs and advising. She also participated in the academic advising team and in various initiatives on student development and retention. In addition, Ellen worked intensively with students in the Double Degree (BA and BMus) program and students in the Musical Studies department.
Ellen received her BA from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI with a major in music, and her MM in Music Theory from the University in Michigan.
