Academics
Through undergraduate, graduate, exchange, and summer programs, students pursue more than 100 majors, minors, and concentrations through courses offered by the University of Richmond's five schools.
U.S. System of Higher Education
Many exchange students are surprised by the differences between the educational style of their home country and the teaching methods in the United States. The U.S. liberal arts education is typically characterized by the development of broad intellectual and cultural interests and by the achievement of a significant body of skills and knowledge.

Academic Resources
The University is committed to helping international students succeed and encourages students to take advantage of on-campus academic resources, including the Writing Center, Speech Center, and Academic Skills Center.
Honor System
At Richmond, every student has a personal responsibility to support and uphold the integrity of the University and their degree by adhering to the University's Honor Code Statute. Cheating, plagiarism, lying, and failure to report an honor code violation are examples of violations of the Honor Code.
Every undergraduate student, including exchange students, must sign a pledge of honor upon entering the University of Richmond.
Courses on the United States
International students are strongly encouraged to take courses on U.S. history, politics, literature, and culture. The University offers a wide range of American studies courses through the American studies department.
