International Internship Provider Application: Deadlines vary
UR Summer Fellowships and Weinstein Summer Grant: March 24, 2025 by 5 pm
UR Gateway Abroad Registration: May 1, 2025

The University of Richmond offers international internship experiences during the summer months to traditional undergraduate students. When interning overseas during the academic year or semester is not an option, a summer experience offers the opportunity to gain international work experience in a more compact timeframe.

We offer international internship experiences in partnership with the experienced organizations below. These are the only third-party providers approved to qualify for UR Summer Fellowships Funding.

International Internship Provider Application Details

Deadlines for internship applications vary by program. Review program deadlines carefully.

Explore internship options and locations
Visit the internship destination website and select the "Apply" button
Indicate your school as "University of Richmond"
When prompted confirm your school, destination, and desired term
Complete all required sections of the application
Submit completed application with application fee (if applicable)

UR Summer Fellowships Funding

Summer internships abroad may be eligible for UR Summer Fellowships funding, including the Weinstein Summer Grant. These opportunities are not available to non-UR students.

Review list of funding programs (including Weinstein Summer Grants) eligible for internships
Apply to any programs that align with your internship goals and requirements
Weinstein Summer Grants are available to assist with airfare for students approved for UR Summer Fellowships (URSF) programs; complete as needed

Register Participation with UR

Students who plan to participate in a summer internship abroad must register their participation with UR using GatewayAbroad by May 1, 2025.

Complete the registration in GatewayAbroad once you receive the instructions and registration link via email
Click on the “Register Your Participation” button
Log into GatewayAbroad using your UR NetID and password
Complete the online registration for your program
