India II - 1999
Because of overwhelming demand, and since the 1998 Faculty Seminar to India was such a great success, the Office of International Education, supported by the Provost's Office, offered a second Faculty Seminar to India in 1999.
Dr. John Gordon from the Department of History and Dr. Kathleen Hewett-Smith from the Department of English led a group of nine faculty members on the three-week seminar.
The seminar was preceded by several weeks of personal research and on-campus presentations.
While in India, participants met with academics and intellectuals. They also visited some of the region's most important cultural and political sites.
