Jordan, Yemen, Syria, and Israel - 1993
Dr. Uliana Gabara led a group of nine faculty members on a three-week trip to Jordan, Yemen, Syria, and Israel. Professors scheduled to teach the Interdisciplinary Core Course in the 1994-1995 academic year were given priority, because the course incorporated Middle Eastern texts into is curriculum. The seminar was preceded by several weeks of personal research and on-campus presentations.
While in Jordan, Yemen, Syria, and Israel, participants met with academics and intellectuals. They also visited some of the region's most important cultural and political sites. Their visit was highlighted in a local Yemen newspaper.
