International Scholars

The University of Richmond has an enduring interest in welcoming international scholars from around the world each year. Their perspectives enrich the inherently globally minded atmosphere on campus through art projects, lectures, readings, performances, and discussions with faculty, staff, and students.

Many departments are already engaged in this important component of campus life, and our office is also here to provide support to campus departments exploring ways to sponsor and bring international scholars to campus. We have limited budgeting available to support expenses and two scholar offices available for host departments short on space.

Additionally, International Education has a special interest in working with scholars in countries like Cuba and South Africa where the University is seeking to develop deeper connections and stronger academic partnerships. Should you know of such scholars, please reach out to talk.

International Perspective

We encourage academic departments and student organizations to organize lectures, brown bag discussions, performances, and classroom visits featuring international scholars.
