HAMAMATSU AND OKINAWA: LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, AND CULTURE

May 13 – June 14, 2024 (five weeks)

Students combine intensive language study along with literature and independent study work while they discover the Japanese language in its authentic setting. Students experience Japan's rich culture through a “homestay” with a Japanese family, by visiting famous sites, and participating in such cultural traditions as the tea ceremony, calligraphy, and Gagaku or traditional Japanese court music. The program will feature a two-week stay in Hamamatsu and three weeks in Okinawa.
